Martin qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 1995, travelled south to Huddersfield with the intention of staying for a couple of years. He has worked with us ever since and became a Partner in the Practice in 1998. With a strong grounding in all aspects of mixed practice, Martin now does predominantly small animal work and has a keen interest in Soft Tissue and Orthopaedic surgery. Martin also now deals with much of the administrative work of the Practice which he fits in around clinical work. Over lunchtime, he takes off his clinician’s hat and dons that of HR manager, IT consultant or handyman depending on requirements. Martin has an interest in veterinary politics and has been elected President of the Yorkshire Veterinary Society in the past and writes a weekly column in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner. Out of work, Martin, his wife and son breed high health status Labrador dogs from working and field lines, Pedigree Berkshire pigs and Pedigree Southdown sheep on their smallholding.
